New Spaces To Stay Original – Native Places 2024 Openings Revealed.

At Native Places we’re set to embark on an exciting phase of expansion and revitalisation, unveiling new spaces and projects that underscore our commitment to innovation and the guest experience.

With the announcement of our new Native property in Fulham, London, and the completion of significant renovations at Native Glasgow, we’re elevating the stay experience to new heights. These developments follow the much-awaited opening of Native King’s Wardrobe, St Paul’s, scheduled for April 2024.  In the terrace houses that enclose the courtyard sits 92 apartments, from studios to spacious one, two and three-bedroom apartments, some with breath-taking views of the 17th Century Cathedral from their terrace. The property will feature Counter, a vibrant neighbourhood space for discovering the city and locals to take a break from the race, creating soul-nourishing bites by day and offering liquid therapy by night. We offer a curation of cultural events to keep our guests entertained, embodying the essence of community and connection.

In line with our dedication to offering freedom and flexibility for extended stays, Native Fulham Broadway will mark the eighth aparthotel in our growing portfolio and the fifth in the bustling capital. The concept for Native Fulham Broadway draws inspiration from the area’s rich market traditions and the vibrant atmosphere of West Brompton. In collaboration with the award-winning design studio YOUTH, the design reflects a vision that integrates its eclectic surroundings, fostering an immersive connection with the community.

Native Places remains dedicated to preserving the high design standard across our existing portfolio. Native Glasgow is in the process of undergoing a complete renovation to enhance our guest’s experience. The redesigned space brings comfort, style and art deco pieces, reflecting our commitment to creating modern and aesthetically designed space while honouring each building’s heritage and identity.

The remarkable success of Native Places has fuelled our determination to expand further across the UK. Olivia Immesi, our CEO, expresses her excitement, stating, “This is a very exciting time for Native Places as we expand operations further across the UK. The future of aparthotels worldwide, particularly in the UK, is significant, with the demand for longer stays is one of the fastest-growing sectors within the hospitality industry.”

Our aparthotel offers the freedom and flexibility of a local apartment with the comfort and convenience of a boutique hotel, surpassing the traditional hotel experience. We cater to interesting people seeking interesting places, offering curious families and energetic and business travellers a hybrid setup that meets their needs.

As we redefine the aparthotel experience, we remain committed to bringing people together and connecting guests to local communities through our Neighbourhood Heroes network. This initiative provides guests exclusive access to the best local amenities, enabling them to live like locals in each Native Places community.

Dedicated to sustainability, Native Places is on the path to becoming a B-Corp listed company. From recycled plastic bottle-filled pillows to carpets made from old plastic, we incorporate sustainable practices at every guest touchpoint, underscoring our commitment to the environment.

As we journey towards the continued expansion of our aparthotels and brand, we remain focused on sustainable growth and offering unique, design-led aparthotel experiences. The year ahead holds exciting prospects as we continue to create great places with great people in great areas across the UK and beyond, shaping the future of the extended stay.

Where to Find the Best Views of Edinburgh

Exploring Edinburgh’s Overlooked Neighbourhoods & Hidden Gems

Edinburgh overflows with famous attractions luring swarms of tourists every year. But to truly explore Scotland’s enchanting capital, wander away from the crowded main attractions like the Royal Mile and instead get lost wandering the city’s local favourites.

This insider’s guide reveals how to escape the crowds and explore Edinburgh beyond the major hotspots. It unveils hidden gems even some locals overlook, from the hilltop viewpoints with sweeping vistas rivalling Castle Rock to Leith’s vibrant street art trails offering brilliant photo backdrops you won’t find on any postcard.

Navigating Edinburgh’s Lesser-Known Areas

Venturing beyond the main city centre sites opens doors to explore Edinburgh’s spots that many visitors rarely experience.

Explore Leith: Edinburgh’s waterfront has transformed into a foodie hotspot, with local markets, restaurants, and street murals.

Explore Bruntsfield & Morningside: These quaint areas offer boutique shops and cafes without city centre prices. Walk from one end of Bruntsfield Place to another for a window shopping adventure.

Explore Calton Hill: Edinburgh’s iconic hill rivals Arthur’s Seat for sweeping city panoramas but with fewer crowds. Stroll past monuments and historic sites for Instagram gold.

Chasing Stunning Hidden Views

While Edinburgh overflows with popular lookouts, few tourists know to visit these local favourite vantage points offering postcard-worthy backdrops you won’t get framing the Castle or Palace.

The Vennel’s Perfect Frame: This steep walkway perfectly frames Arthur’s Seat for the iconic summit photo no tourist can capture.

Blackford Hill’s 180 Degree Panorama: Hike up Edinburgh’s hidden gem hill for stunning unobstructed views spanning the city’s spires to the Pentland Hills.

Leith Docks Street Art Haven: The brilliantly coloured murals splashed across buildings here have become Edinburgh’s hottest photo op destination.

When it comes to stunning vistas overlooking Edinburgh, Arthur’s Seat undoubtedly takes the top spot. This iconic hill towers over the city, with hiking trails winding up to the summit where breathtaking 360-degree views unfold below. From rocky cliffs and grassy slopes, you can take in Edinburgh Castle perched prominently on Castle Rock along with the Old Town and New Town tenements and monuments sprawling into the distance. For nearly as sweeping panoramas minus the climb, head to Calton Hill – the Atmospheric Observatory here offers a camera-ready outlook over Princes Street Gardens to the castle and sea beyond. Or for a local favourite vista, as mentioned make your way up Blackford Hill in the south; its peak delivers an uninterrupted panorama spanning the city’s spires to the Pentland Hills in one glorious frame. From these elevated Edinburgh viewpoints, be prepared to capture a capital city at its most visually spellbinding.

So trade the tourist traps for local finds as you escape the crowds and explore Edinburgh from exciting new angles! Whatever overlooked corner of Scotland’s capital you uncover, an enchanting surprise surely awaits. And whilst you’re there, why not stay in the heart of Edinburgh with history outside and sleek design inside – Native Edinburgh offers a true home from home aparthotel that doesn’t disappoint – you’ll feel like a local living in the best spot in the city!
