The Threads of Christmas: An installation that celebrates Fashion, Festivity, & Regal Charm.

Unveiling our Christmas Installation at Native King’s Wardrobe, St. Paul’s.

Nestled in the heart of St Paul’s, London, Native King’s has been transformed into a masterpiece of couture-inspired festivity with our stunning festive installation, Threads of Christmas. In collaboration with the brilliant team at McQueens Flowers, we’ve woven together the threads of royal heritage, high fashion, and festive elegance to create an unforgettable seasonal display.

The History.

Nestled just behind St Paul’s Cathedral, Native King’s Wardrobe has a story that dates back centuries. Once the Royal Wardrobe in the 14th century, this remarkable space stored ceremonial robes for kings, queens, and members of the royal family. Honouring the property’s heritage, the restored townhouses are named after pioneering designers of the past, who transformed British attire.  Today, that legacy is woven into every detail of our Christmas display.

The Installation.

The installation is a celebration of the craftsmanship that defined both historic fashion and festive traditions.

The entrance archway is a curation of gold branches intertwined with pink-frosted baubles & bows that shimmer in the evening lights, evoking the splendour of couture-inspired design and the charm of a classic London Christmas display.

Inside the property, the bespoke floral gown, a version of our Christmas tree, is sustainably crafted with pink asparagus fern, preserved roses, pampas, & pine, honouring the artistry of the fashion innovators we pay homage to.

The decorations draw inspiration from the designers our houses are named after – embroidered pink velvet ribbons and baubles echo lingerie-inspired elements used daringly by Maison Lucile’s in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, while luxurious velvet and pearl swags reflect Rose Bertin’s iconic gowns. The floral head-dress crowning the design pays tribute to Mildred Blount, the trailblazing milliner. Together, they celebrate femininity, strength, and empowerment.

At Native, we believe in creating beauty responsibly. That’s why sustainability is at the heart of The Threads of Christmas. The use of dried flowers in the installation, including pink asparagus fern, gold branches, preserved roses, ruscus, pampas, and pine, not only speak to traditional femininity but also align with our ethos of conscious consumption, with many of the decorative pieces designed to be reused in future projects, ensuring that their beauty can be appreciated beyond this season. It’s part of our shared commitment with McQueens Flowers to celebrate creativity while caring for the planet.
