If you’re curious and creative, join us for a workshop with Ray and learn how to make beautiful pearl jewellery.

Ray will guide you through understanding pearls, and how they’re they’re formed and farmed to assess their quality. You’ll be introduced to all the tools and components needed to create your jewellery piece. You’ll have the option to choose between 14ct gold-filled and 925 sterling silver findings and a wide selection of pearls to create your piece.

Whether you’re coming solo or with friends or family, take a moment to do something for yourself and learn a new craft.

Crochet Workshop: Scrunchies

In this Crochet Club! workshop you will learn how to crochet your own hair scrunchies!

These scrunchies are simple to make once you get the hang of them – making them a fantastic project for beginners to start with. Not to mention that they’ve very cool. Scrunchies are everywhere at the minute, and learning to crochet your own means that you can make one in every colour, for yourself and as gifts!

This workshop is designed to be totally accessible for beginners and will talk you through the pattern and crochet stitches togethher. So don’t worry if you’ve never picked up a hook before.

All materials are included in this workshop, but if you’d like to bring your own, you’re more than welcome! You’ll need: 5mm hook and DK weight yarn.

Crochet Workshop: Granny Squares for Beginners

Beginning your crochet journey? Then this is the craft class for you! Learn one of the iconic fundamentals of crochet and pick up loads of skills along the way as you make your very own granny square.

Using basic crochet stitches, you will make one of the most popular crochet items out there. Granny squares are so easy to make and super versatile. Once you sew a few together you can make everything from blankets to cardigans, toys, cushion covers and more.

The best part? You don’t need to know how to crochet! You can join in on this friendly class as a complete beginner, pick up a crochet hook and dive right into the colourful fun of yarn. If you do have some crochet experience, you’re also welcome to come. All the materials you need are supplied, but you can bring your own if you’d like to! (you’ll need DK yarn in 2 or 3 colours, and a size 4 hook)

You will cover the ins and outs of crochet patterns and stitches. Throughout this textiles class, you’ll soon start to feel the calming and mindful benefits of crochet, build your confidence and maybe even find your new favourite hobby.

Zine Making Workshop

Join us at Counter in Edinburgh for a playful zine making workshop celebrating Pride!

You will learn how to create your own zine using a one sheet template, the technique of collage as well as magazines cut-outs and colourful recycled paper stocks.

All materials will be provided and you will leave feeling inspired with your new zine!

This event is for anyone ages 18+ keen to celebrate Pride through the exploration of collage and zine-making in a relaxing and welcoming environment.

This workshop is suitable for all levels, no previous experience and skills are necessary.
