Vinyl Exchange

What is it?

One of the UK’s largest independent record stores and a Manchester music institution since 1988.

Where is it?

Right on Oldham Street in Manchester’s buzzing Northern Quarter, surrounded by cafés, bars and vintage stores.

What you’ll find

Vinyl Exchange is a music lover’s paradise, packed with new and pre-loved vinyl, CDs and DVDs across just about every genre. The shop is spread across two levels and its collection is legendary rock, indie, jazz, disco, soul, house, techno, hip hop and everything in between.

What sets it apart? The staff. These aren’t just sales people, they’re music heads who live and breathe their craft. Whether you’re after a rare soul pressing, building your first collection, or just here to browse, they’ll happily guide you through the crates and help you discover something new.

Even if you don’t buy anything (you will), you’ll leave with a smile and probably a few song recommendations. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why record stores still matter.
