Like chatting books and ideas, but not into book clubs? Counter Socials are the not-a-book-club social!
Gathering once a month at Counter to have a chat and make new pals. Each month there’s a theme and a few words from a selection of local writers, artists, activists or performers whose work intersects with that topic. You can rock up with friends or come solo and listen to speakers before being introduced to others in the room or tuck yourself away to read.
Our first gathering is a Feminist meet up and we’ll be: touching on the Iranian women’s protests against compulsory Hijab and the murder of Mahsa Amini, reproductive justice, Edinburgh’s queer-feminist scene with our pals from Blunt Knife Co, poetry from Lauren Pope, and more!
Readings/Speakers will kick off at 7.20pm, so there is time to grab a drink or two!
